Start Celtic Cross

Start with the heart of the matter

The central pair holds the present and the challenge crossing it. Begin by reading their relationship. A sideways card marks the crossing position; its printed Upright or Reversed label remains the source of truth for orientation.

Next, explore past, possible near development, conscious aim, and foundation. These positions place the central pair in context. Foundation can suggest a habit or assumption to consider, but it does not reveal a hidden biography or unconscious diagnosis.

Connect the cross and the staff

The four cards on the right are read from bottom to top: your stance, surroundings, hopes and fears, and possible direction. Compare your aim with your foundation, then consider how your stance meets the circumstances around you. Published Celtic Cross conventions differ; follow the numbers and labels used in this layout.

The final card is a possible trajectory, not a fixed verdict. Read it with the rest of the spread, especially the challenge and the choices within your influence. The synthesis groups the ten perspectives into a whole and closes with one reflection and one small action.

Give a detailed reading room

Bring one complex situation rather than ten unrelated questions. You can select any numbered card to inspect it at a readable size, including on a phone. The saved reading keeps the same geometry, positions, and interpretation.

If this feels like more detail than your question needs, Single Card or Two-Card Cross offers a shorter pause. More cards give you more perspectives to consider; they do not make the interpretation more certain.

Explore the symbols in context

These cards offer examples of themes you might explore with Celtic Cross. They are not a required combination or a promise about which cards you will draw.
