Bring one piece of work

Work Focus is useful for a stalled project, an overloaded week, or a task you cannot quite start. Choose one piece of work rather than asking the spread to summarize your whole career. Include constraints you already know, such as a deadline, a missing brief, or limited time.

A reading can offer language for how you approach the task. It cannot establish what your manager thinks, predict a promotion, or replace evidence about a job offer. For two named alternatives, the Decision spread gives each option its own position.

Connect resources to a next step

What I can use invites you to identify a skill, support, or existing resource. Check that the resource is actually available. Where effort sticks looks at friction: unclear scope, interruptions, hesitation, or a process that needs changing.

Next step should respond to that friction using something from the first position. If the cards suggest collaboration but no colleague is available, adapt the idea: write a clear request or identify what feedback would help. Keep the interpretation accountable to the situation.

Close with a small experiment

Choose a step you can observe: outline a page, request a missing detail, or protect a short period of focused work. Avoid turning a symbolic suggestion into a major employment or financial decision. The reading is a prompt for attention, not an instruction from an authority.

Save the draw if you want to note what changed after trying the step. If the difficulty is mainly a conversation, switch to the Conversation guide before drawing so the positions match the work you need to do.
