Look back before interpreting

Bring one or two actual moments from the month: something you finished, a conversation you remember, or a routine that became harder to keep. The cards offer ways to examine those experiences. They do not establish why an event happened or suggest it was destined.

A monthly review works best when it has a boundary. Choose the month you mean before drawing, and leave events outside that period for another reflection. You do not need to turn every part of your life into a lesson.

Read Lesson, Release, and Carry forward together

Lesson asks what experience has taught you, including what remains uncertain. Release asks whether an expectation, habit, or standard needs less of your energy. It does not ask you to erase grief or abandon an obligation because a card appeared.

Carry forward protects what is useful. A skill, relationship practice, or small boundary can remain valuable even after a difficult month. Read it beside Release: what could you keep while changing how tightly you hold it?

Leave a record you can return to

Save the reading and add a short note naming the experience behind your interpretation. Later, compare that note with what you actually tried. The journal can show recurring cards and a monthly thread; those are records of saved draws, not evidence that events were predicted.

For planning the coming week, use Week Ahead instead. Month in Review looks back; it does not turn the next month into a schedule of expected events.
